Planning an occasion · Production

Crews work long days.
Plan for the whole call sheet.

A production is not a guest event. Facilities serve working people across long, shifting days, and the trailer has to fit within location rules, basecamp layout and moves.

Planning guidance by Restroom Resources

The short answer

Place restrooms at basecamp within reach of the set, confirm the hours the location permits trailers to operate and be serviced, plan for each company move in advance and settle power and water per model with your locations team. Restroom Resources coordinates delivery, setup, servicing access and pickup around the agreed schedule.

Basecamp placement

Basecamp is usually where restroom trailers belong: near crew parking, catering and holding, with a reasonable walk to set. Questions for your locations department:

  • Where is basecamp, and can a delivery vehicle reach it?
  • Is the spot firm and reasonably level, and away from catering preparation?
  • Is there a separate cast area that should have its own smaller trailer?
  • How far is the walk to set, and will crew cross traffic or public areas?

The placement guide covers approach, ground and guest-path questions in detail.

Permitted operating windows

Locations often restrict when vehicles can arrive, operate or be serviced, especially in residential areas. We do not interpret permits; your locations team knows the conditions. Share them early:

  • Earliest delivery and latest pickup times allowed.
  • When servicing vehicles may enter, and any quiet hours.
  • Parking or street restrictions that affect the trailer's position.

Company moves

If the production moves location, decide early whether the restroom trailer moves with it, stays at a central basecamp, or whether separate units suit each location. Give the team the move schedule, the new location's access details and a contact at each site. The scope and timing of any relocation need to be agreed with the team before the shoot.

Utilities, crew access and options

Power and water requirements differ by model. The 2-Stall, 3-Stall ADA and 4-Stall pages link flyers listing them; for the 8-Station, ask the team to confirm. Confirm with locations and your electrical team how the trailer will be supplied, and keep cables clear of crew paths.

Long-running shoots can also be planned as a temporary projects service rental.
